Google knows you

Another milestone for Google. MCP — Model Context Protocol server, Google claims will help us “to connect its LLM Gemini to a system like Analytics and essentially allows us chat with our data.”

For instance, you can ask Gemini, “do I have more users this week compared to last?” and it accesses your Google Analytics and boom…you have the answer. Of course, it will ask for your permission to use the MCP server to access analytics. MCP obviously is the next step for Google since it has access to both Gemini and your data. I’m sure you have a question: “what took Google this long?” Let’s just be happy we got this now. Aside from data privacy/security issues, this is a good tool to have. Applying AI on your data to gain insights? I say, bring it on. I have a lot of questions about me and my business. As usual, MCP will lead to a few job losses. Here’s where Gemini may have an edge over other LLMs. After all, it has access to all our search data, emails, maps, analytics, drives, photos, chats, meets, notebooks among other things. I think Google knows more about me than I do about me! Is it a good thing? I’m going to ask Google!
